Kidney infection also called: pyelonephritis
Inflammation of the kidney due to a bacterial infection.
The
inflammation of the kidney is due to a specific type of urinary tract
infection (UTI). The UTI usually begins in the urethra or bladder and
travels to the kidneys.
Fever, frequent urination and pain in the back, side or groin are symptoms.
Treatment includes antibiotics and often requires hospitalisation.
Symptoms
Pain areas: in the flank, back, or pelvis
Pain circumstances: can occur during urination
Urinary: urinary tract infection, cloudy urine, foul smelling urine, frequent urge to urinate, frequent urination, or blood in urine
Whole body: chills, fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, or malaise
Gastrointestinal: nausea or vomiting
